Q: Hey Lugnuts! Your site ain't bad! Are you some kind of computer genius? A:
Hardly. The fact that you're viewing this page is concrete proof that
any idiot with a PC can do it. Even you. Q: I enjoyed the tour of the old Rouen circuit. Have you been to any other European tracks? A: No. As a matter of fact, I've haven't been to Rouen, either. Chris Hall has, though. He provided the photos and wrote the story; I merely assembled the web pages and provided the web space. Q: Johnny, I really dig some of your Rennsport Reunion and Mosport ALMS photos. The BMW pics are cool, too. Is there some place where I can buy a print? A: Not bloody likely, mate! I'm not in this racket to make a buck. If you'd like a print for your own personal use, save the image in question from the web page, and print it yourself. It should be noted that the photos have been presented in a reduced quality to save space and load faster. If you'd like the original file, e-mail me. I'd be happy to provide it. Q: Johnny Lugnuts, huh? Is that your real name? A: Why do you ask? Of course it's my real name! Your insensitive question has insulted countless generations of Lugnutses! Q: Are you a top notch GPL driver, Johnny? A: Not unlike my real race car driving career, where I was a mid pack scrapper at best, the same applies to Grand Prix Legends. Q: Who is "the littlest racer"? She's really cute! A: You're nothing if not perceptive. Thank you for stating the obvious. "The littlest racer" is my daughter, Amy, the world's most beautiful toddler! Q: Do you make money from your website, Mr. Lugnuts? A: Make money? Why, yes, I do...as soon as you send me a cheque. Q: Lugnuts, I'm having difficulty viewing your site; what gives? A: Firstly, ensure that your PC is turned on. I'm no expert, but the site has been tested with Internet Explorer 5.50 and Netscape 4.73. If your browser is an older version, it'd be a good idea to update it. If you're foolish enough to be using Web TV, then I can't help you. Q: How come your pages don't fit my monitor? I've got one of those really annoying horizontal scroll bars. A: If viewed at a desktop resolution set smaller than 1024x768, you'll not see the entire page, and the scroll bar will appear. Get out of the stone age, and resize your desktop now! Q: Say, this Grand Prix Legends game looks like a lot of fun. Where can I buy it? Does it require some heavyweight hardware to run? A: Game? Did you say game? GPL, sir, is commonly referred to as a "driving sim", or simulation. If you're looking for a driving game, try Need for Speed on your Playstation. Now that that nasty confusion has been cleared up, let's proceed. GPL, at four years old, is a mighty hard find these days. However, it still might be possible to find in a dusty corner of your local software store. Failing that, one could always try eBay, where GPL is readily available for about $10.00US. With today's PC's, featuring fast processors and fancy video cards, GPL will run decently on just about anything above a PII 300. While possible to race with the keyboard, it's best to acquire a proper steering wheel and pedal set. Q: Okay, Luggy, I took your fine advice! I've got the software and a wheel/pedal rig, but I'm getting bored racing against the AI. Can I race GPL online, against real human beings? A: Absolutely. There's nothing quite like online competition. Racers gather on the 'net at WinVROC, the online racing client. Once proficient at pick up races, the next step is to join one of the numerous organized leagues. Q: Herr Lugnuts, with so many GPL websites these days, why do you bother? A: I became tired of sending friends various files and photos, so I assembled 'em all on this lame site. Also, it keeps me out of the bars late at night. Q: Johnny, are all of these FAQ's legit? A: The joke's on you, pal. I made 'em all up!
